Jariego (current Director of Industrial Internet of Things and Member of the Executive Committee of Telefónica I + D (Research & Development)) are some of the experts who have already confirmed their attendance to the International Conference on City Sciencies that will take place in Santiago de Chile next June 16th and 17th under the title: “New Architectures, Infrastructures and Services for New Cities”.

They will discuss some of the most important issues for the future of Smart Cities in the world, such as innovations in an urban context (broadband, wireless, data, sensors, energy…), urban landscapes, smart city developments, collaborative projects to adress urban challenges…

Speakers come from many different backgrounds, and their long experienced careers are guaranteed to cover all the spectrum of issues and themes considered in this international conference. Santiago has become a destination of choice for international business travellers, developing a reputation as a calm and clean city with a good quality of life. According to The New York Times, Santiago de Chile was the number one destination for travellers in 2011.The best way to discover this constantly changing metropolis is to walk around the various districts and neighbourhoods.

The conference will take place in Universidad del Desarrollo, sponsor of the event and one of the most important educational institutions of Latin America. Those students interested in participating in the event should submit their applications before February 29th.
